Not so long ago in a sleepy little town of Yawnsville, in the southern states of America, Bob Jackson lived with his only daughter Jackie. He had been widowed when she was just a baby and seen her grow into a spoilt child, who preferred to play softball than with soft toys. Their home was a lovely old plantation mansion that had been in their family for generations. One unfortunate day, after a disastrous stock market crash, they lost it all. The bank acted quickly to repossess their house, its contents and Bob's prize collection of cars. While he tried to reason with the manager, Jackie nervously went up into the attic to fetch their cases.

Searching amongst boxes and dustsheets, she found a large old wooden chest and picked the lock with her penknife. Inside Jackie uncovered a leather-bound book of her favourite fairy tale, 'Jack and the Beanstalk', as well as a golden harp with a figurehead of a beautiful lady. Thinking it might be valuable Jackie polished the glittering instrument. Suddenly, the Golden Lady came alive and told her the truth about her family's extraordinary history. In a flash, she gave Jackie a handful of magic beans that would take her on the most exciting and wondrous adventure of all time… |
